A fully restored Tickford drophead, beautifully presented and fitted with power steering.
The story
Alvis TA 21 Tickford DHC
Bodied by Tickford, this Alvis TA 21 drophead coupé was delivered new on 25 September 1953 in Leeds, registered SNW 9, with special factory features: bonnet ventilators, twin carburettors with modified jets, polished wood screen cappings and a Trico windscreen washer.
Rediscovered in the mid-1990s after standing since 1958, it underwent a complete bare-chassis restoration, documented by a full photographic record: body, trim, paint and chrome entirely redone, and the 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine rebuilt.
Regularly maintained since — with numerous Red Triangle invoices on file — and fitted in 2024 with remarkably light power-assisted steering, it presents in superb order: gleaming paint, impeccable chrome and light tan leather. A rare Tickford drophead, ideal for weddings, ceremonies and exhibitions.
