The story
Daimler DS 420
Built from 1968 to 1992, the Daimler DS 420 is a state limousine designed for official use. No other model was delivered to more royal families — the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Luxembourg.
Built at the Vanden Plas works in Kingsbury, it takes its name from the 4.2-litre Jaguar XK engine. It embodies British luxury and tradition in their most official form.
The Queen Mother was a devoted user, owning up to five examples in the royal “Black over Royal Claret” livery. An exceptional presence for grand occasions.
