A black open drophead with sleek lines, bodied by Charlesworth on Alvis’s most powerful pre-war chassis.
The story
Alvis Speed 25 Charlesworth DHC
Flagship of Alvis’s pre-war range, the Speed 25 sits on a lowered chassis powered by a 3.6-litre triple-carburettor six, with a synchromesh gearbox and vacuum-servo brakes — remarkably modern engineering for 1937.
This example wears an elegant drophead coupé body by Charlesworth of Coventry, one of the marque’s leading coachbuilders. Finished in deep black set off by tan leather, hood up or folded, it combines presence with refinement.
Acquired in 2021 in remarkable condition, the car retains a documented history and a low number of owners. Its timeless presence makes it a prime choice for weddings, concours d’élégance and film shoots.
